Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults adapted for Children RCIA-C- Catechist and Sponsors

See: Becoming Catholic

The RCIA-C prepares persons of catechetical age to receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist). Persons baptized in other churches who wish to become Catholic are also prepared to make a Profession of Faith, undergo Confirmation, and receive the Eucharist. The RCIA-C needs catechists for the teams that foster this process for children. The teams are trained and led by the Director of the Catechumenate. Sponsors are also needed for those preparing to become Catholics. Sponsors attend meetings and participate in discussion and prayer. Being a sponsor is a great way to give support to someone as well as to enrich one’s own faith. The RCIC-C meets on Wednesdays, at 6:30 p.m., during the religious education program at the school.
