Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults - Team and Sponsors (RCIA)

The RCIA prepares persons of catechetical age (age 7 and above) for receiving the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist). Persons baptized in other churches who wish to become Catholic are also prepared to make a Profession of Faith, receive Confirmation, and receive First Eucharist.

The RCIA needs catechists for the teams that foster this process. The teams are trained and led by the Director of the Catechumenate. Sponsors are also needed to help those preparing to become Catholics. Sponsors attend meetings and participate in discussions and prayer. Being a sponsor is a great way to give support to someone as well as to enrich one’s own faith. RCIA meetings are on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Teen Room.
